“I’d put my Walkman headphones on and then I’d put the electronic drum headphones on over that, and then try to mix the volume so that I could hear what was going on. And I remember trying to kind of figure out what the drummer was doing. I figured out what a “high hat” was, where that was, where the crashes were, and what a “ride” was.
